KOREA TRANSIT CARD / PRIVACY
Korea Transit CardPrivacy Policy
The developer of Korea Transit Card values users’ privacy and the information associated with their transit cards. This Privacy Policy explains how Korea Transit Card handles information.
1. Personal Information Collection
Korea Transit Card does not require users to create an account or sign in.
The developer does not directly collect personal information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, account information, or precise location information through Korea Transit Card.
The app is designed primarily to read supported physical transit cards using the NFC functionality of the user’s iPhone.
2. NFC and Transit Card Information
When a user scans a supported physical transit card, Korea Transit Card may read information available from the card to provide its features.
Depending on the card type and available card data, this may include:
- Transit card number or card identifier
- Transit card type
- Remaining balance
- Scan date and time
- Other technical information required to identify or interpret the card
Transit card information and scan history are processed and stored locally on the user’s device. The developer does not operate a server for this information, and the app does not transmit transit card numbers, balances, or scan history to the developer.
Users can delete individual records, records associated with a specific card, or all locally stored scan history. Deleting the app will also remove locally stored data, subject to the normal behavior of iOS.
3. Advertising
Korea Transit Card uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.
When advertisements are requested or displayed, Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect or process the following information depending on the user’s device, region, privacy choices, and consent status:
- Device identifiers
- Advertising-related information
- Product interaction data
- Diagnostic information
- Performance information
This information may be used for displaying advertisements, measuring performance, analytics, fraud prevention, and improving advertising services. The developer does not directly control information processed by Google and its partners. Users should refer to Google’s applicable privacy policies and advertising privacy documentation for details.
4. Advertising Consent and Privacy Choices
Korea Transit Card may use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage advertising-related privacy consent where required by applicable laws and regulations.
The availability and contents of consent options may vary by region. Where applicable, users may review or modify advertising privacy choices through the privacy options provided within the app.
5. App Tracking Transparency
Korea Transit Card may request permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework when tracking permission is applicable.
Users may allow or deny tracking when the iOS request is displayed. If denied, the app respects the system-level choice. Users can later review or change tracking permissions in iPhone Settings.
Advertising may still be displayed when tracking permission is denied, but personalization and the advertising experience may differ.
6. Analytics and Diagnostics
Korea Transit Card does not operate its own analytics or crash-reporting server.
Third-party services included in the app, such as Google Mobile Ads, may process product interaction, diagnostic, crash, or performance information to provide, maintain, measure, and improve their services. Information processed may depend on the SDK version, device configuration, consent status, and services available in the user’s region.
7. Local Data Storage
Transit card information, balance scan history, and app preferences may be stored locally on the user’s iPhone to provide the app’s functionality. This information is not transmitted to the developer’s servers.
Users can manage available scan history through the app and may remove locally stored app data by deleting the app.
8. Data Sharing
The developer does not sell or rent users’ transit card information or locally stored scan history.
Advertising information may be processed by Google and its advertising partners as described in this policy and according to their own privacy policies. Korea Transit Card does not provide locally stored transit card numbers, balances, or scan history to advertising providers for advertising purposes.
9. Children’s Privacy
Korea Transit Card is not designed to knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and users are not required to provide personal information or create an account.
Third-party advertising services may process information according to their own policies, applicable laws, regional requirements, and the app’s advertising configuration.
10. Third-Party Services
Korea Transit Card may use the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)
- Apple App Tracking Transparency framework
These services may process information according to their respective privacy policies and applicable privacy regulations.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if the app’s features, third-party services, data practices, or applicable legal requirements change. Updates will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
